What a night.
Even though the Italianos didn't seem to want celebrate St. Pat's, we most certainly did.
"Let's start a dance party!"
-said Tyeler, about 100 times last evening.
So between my parents, her parents, Zach and Chris, we started a dance party. Kind of..
I'd call it more of a wine party however.
After about six bottles of wine, the girls decided we needed to eat. The boys wanted to stay home and smoke their cigars. So Tyeler, my mom, and I took off on foot, to what we thought was just a cozy little restaurant across the way.
"The way," was a scarily dark path lined with Cypress trees on both sides. And in those trees were large families of bats (vampires.) Let's not forget Breaking Dawn was filmed in this very town. Luckily, we were tipsy and found it pretty entertaining to scream wildly and run like idiots the entire way.
The restaurant wasn't cozy. It was pretentious. And they definitely weren't too keen on Americans. Especially three slightly drunk women who just wanted to order "pizza and calamari." and shots. They had none of which.
Instead they gave us bruschetta and three juice glasses of rum, all served with a side of judgement. We made do. It was St. Patrick's Day, damn it. And we made sure the table of wealthy Italianos next to us knew so, as well.
Today...
We all woke up a bit groggy. I had red stained teeth and a ring around my mouth like a five year old with severely chapped lips.
Once we finally got going we headed into the town of Montepulciano to do a little sightseeing.
We only had to walk up about 38 hills to get here.
But it was so worth it.
Because we got to eat and drink again.
As well as see sights like this.
But I am already dreading going home... Mostly because all of this eating and drinking isn't going to be such a good thing for the attire I have packed for my Vegas trip I will be embarking on this Friday.
... wiggle wiggle wiggle yeah.. I don't work out.
It's off to Venice tomorrow. I am veryyyyy excited. Although I keep calling it Vienna, which I guess is pretty different.
Now we're just nibbling on cheese and sipping more wine as we wait for the Creighton game to come on. The Tar Heels are so middle school. Go Jays!!!
