After having the pleasure of watching my wonderful little nephew, Knox, last summer I couldn't help but feel there just aren't enough children's stories told from the point of view of an outsider. i.e. a loving, caring aunt, who doesn't know shit about the baby world.
So I began writing the story "A Bottle for Me. A Bottle for You." I teamed up with Kammie Russel to bring this story to life with her amazing talent for illustrating. Kammie, who works at the Lance Armstrong Foundation in Austin, TX, literally read my mind and created the most unique and utterly beautiful images I could have hoped for. I totally reccomend you check out her store on etsy or at http://kammierussel.carbonmade.com/. The girl is gooooood.
Anyway, we wanted to create a cool and chic children's book not necessarily for small children, but for the adults who have to put up with them. Here is a sneak peak at one of the inside page's..
"The strong scent of shit tells me it's time for a diaper swap,
A rendezvous to the bathroom will have to be our next stop.
Gather all of baby's one million things from the grass,
Time to head inside and clean off that ass."
If you like what you see and would be willing to support us and share our images we would love to start spreading the word via Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, blogs, whatever! We are only able to get a few copies published initially so we are hoping to spark interest by the magic of social media.
So start pinning the cover image or posting it to Facebook or whatever you do to whore yourself out to the media. Kam and I really and truly appreciate it as we are very excited about this endeavor.
