Could the weather get any better right now?
Better question, could everyone be talking about how great the weather is any more than they already are? Doubtful.
Wonder what we'd all be Facebooking/Tweeting about this week if the weather wasn't super nice like it is?
My guess is Jessica Simpson's rhino baby she's about to deliver.
Anyway... I, like the rest of the world, am loving this little taste of summer we're all being treated to.
I know it sounds cliche, but the city really comes alive when it's nice outside.
Chris and I even had lunch in the park today. It was so big city of us. And saying, "Chris, this is so big city of us to be eating in the park like this," was so small town of us... As was heading over to the "Chicago Bean" after we were done to snap a photo.
See if you can spot us. Hint: we're not the Hispanic teens in the white shirts.
After work Harlow begged me to take him to Oz Park.
I think he likes coming here because it reminds him of the small town in Kansas he was born in. And there's no place like home...
He was loving life like the rest of us. That is until a squirrel caught his eye and he insisted on chasing after it.
And I wouldn't have believed this unless I saw it with my own eyes, but I kid you not, the squirrel Harlow was after was taunting him from up above. He actually took the nut he was eating and threw it at Harlow's face. For reals. I was astounded. And Harlow was pissed. Rightfully so. I can think of a lot of jokes right now about busting a nut but I'm going to refrain. This is a family blog.
Our park time was cut short because I'm still not fully packed for my two weeks of travels starting TOMORROW! Hells. It's finally here. Rome, Tuscany, Venice... Followed by a quick weekend in Vegas. I'm pumped.
I'm just about to head to the airport to pick up my parents.
Here's a snap shot of them from their previous trip to Rome circa 1992... I hope my mom packs her toga and red bedazzled scrunchi again because I would really like to borrow both. And maybe if we play our cards right we'll be able to find a random Gladiator to pose in another photo with all of us. We'll see.
All the fun is just about to begin. So stay tuned, my life is about to get super cool for the next 12 days. Which will inevitably be followed by a deep depression when I get home and am forced to return to the real world. So catch me while I'm on my high.
