Time is ticking. St. Patrick's Day is less than 48 hours away. People are already lining up outside of bars here in Chicago. Just kidding, but it wouldn't surprise me. Rumor is the Irish bars start getting busy around 7 a.m. And on St. Patrick's Day, every bar becomes Irish.
I've never actually spent a St. Patty's in Chicago so there is a small part of me that is a little bit sad I'm missing it. But only a very very small part, I'm sure I'll be content to celebrate in Italy, as well. I don't know how it's always worked out this way, but Chris and I have celebrated this day in some pretty great places. Top spots being San Fran, Paris, St. Louis was pretty fun, and definitely last year in Topeka was the best... (gross. no.)
If I remember correctly, Lady Gaga was performing in Omaha on this day last year. I know because my sister went to the concert, as did my sweet neighbors at the time- the Westboro Baptist Church. A church infamous for protesting homosexuality was going to a Gaga concert to "protest." Yeah. Right. Next thing you're going to tell me is that's why large people go to buffets. To protest. Or why I go to happy hour.
If you haven't already, there's still time to go to Guinness and click "join the party." Enter the code: DAIL, and register to win a sweet trip to Dublin. Also check out this cool pub finder so you make sure you don't accidentally end up at some random juice bar or something on Saturday. Eeek.
Five hours and counting until vacay time. C'mon day, move. Faster. I think time is going backward.
