This One's For The Boys

A post dedicated to all of the blogger boys of the world.

Dear Blogger Boys,

Thank you for taking countless photos in public places where normal people wouldn't insist on taking photos. And thank you for occasionally posing for those photos, even when the stupidity you feel is clearly plastered across your face.

Thank you for understanding that when we say "Just one more minute, I have to finish this post real quick," it's never only more minute. And it's certainly never quick.

Thank you for listening to us (occasionally) complain about something we choose to do.

Thank you for not making fun of us when you catch us trying to take a stupid cliche photo that you know is definitely a "blogger-ish photo." see: fro-yo with fruit, leaves on the ground, or any type of sunset photo. On second thought, thank you more for the times you do make fun of us for trying to pull this kind of stuff.

Thank you for understanding that when we refer to our "friends," we might be referring to girls we've never actually met in real life, but might know more about than the people we do know in real life. And it's not weird at all...

Thank you for reminding us that nine times out of ten the top knot hair style is pretty damn ugly (on me, anyway.)  Yet we both know I still wear it all the time regardless.

Thank you for knowing that when food is brought to our table at a restaurant you understand you can't take a bite until a few photos are taken. Same goes for any "pretty" cooked meals at home, as well. But you already know this.

Thank you for taking countless dumb photos of us doing stupid things like holding a cocktail while apparently toasting to no one, sitting on random steps or up against an odd placed pole, posing with our back to you while coyly looking over our shoulder- most likely in an open field or parking lot, or posing by a fence with a big purse while looking blankly at our own feet, or even tossing our head back and laughing hysterically while nothing even remotely funny was said, or simply pulling a poor unknowing pet into the photo to pose with us like a prop. Thank you, thank you for all of that.

Thank you for not laughing at us when we sometimes act like blogging is a matter of life or death. Because we're all just a bunch of grown-up diary keepers who sometimes like to get a little dramatic.

Thank you for realizing that when we say "That photo you just took was awful" doesn't mean it's actually your fault, but in fact it probably has more to do with a fat side arm, a lazy eye, flat hair, or just an overall awkward stance. But thank you for pretending it's your fault, anyway.

Thank you for occasionally reminding us how weird the whole concept of blogging can be from time to time. It's nice to remember the best solution to get away from a crappy comment or annoying situation is to simply press the power button. Sometimes we just need a little reminder.

Thank you for not questioning why we have to photograph and document every damn thing. It's just become a lifestyle at this point.

And most importantly, thank you for never asking "are you going to blog about this?" Because you already know the answer to that one.

So thank you blogger boys, we wouldn't be here without you. Or maybe we would, just with a lot more bathroom selfies, which we all know no one really wants to see anyway.
