Man, how about that leap day yesterday? It was a doozy. Glad it only comes around every four years, I don’t know if I could handle February 29th every single year. To celebrate such a momentous occasion, I headed out to the horse track on the Southside of Chicago to place a few friendly wagers.
That’s not weird right? I just assumed that's how every one celebrated Leap Day, watching horses leap and run around a track. Sure seemed like it yesterday. I saw a plethora of people at the track. As it turns out, horse racing isn't the elitist sport I once thought it was. Now I know where the homeless people hang out on their day off. Same with taxi drivers. And everybody else in Chicago with missing teeth, Bears Starter jackets and yellow work boots. And can’t forget the jean jackets.

Usually, I’d be pretty pissed about having an extra day in February. But after Leap Day showed up in Chicago yesterday with a delightful 60 degree temperature on its side, I was pretty okay with it! And the parting gift left behind is the best of all; March 1st. Thanks Leap Day, maybe you should come around more often.
There's a light at the end of the cold dirty tunnel, people. And I'm starting to see it. We are through January and February, the worst (in my opinion) months of all. This is HUGE! We are on the brink of spring.
On the brink of flowers blooming, trees blossoming, patio drinking, skin tanning, patio drinking, beach going, patio drinking, all while the sun is shining. It's coming.
