I was able to speak with the founder of Chromatic Gallerie and ask a few questions about what inspired her to start such a great company, as well get a little fashion advice while I was at it!
1. What inspired you to start Chromatic Gallerie?
Necessity! I have hard-to-fit feet, and had never been able to find cute shoes that didn't hurt after a few hours. And I knew I wasn't alone, I'd heard so many friends complain about their shoes being painful or expensive. So I set out to create the shoes we all seemed to need but could never find in the height, fit or color we wanted.
2. How are you able to create such a wonderful high quality heel, at such an affordable price?
We've been trained to think that if something is expensive - it's well made. But often, particularly in the footwear industry, that's not the case. So I decided to do something with Cg that very few footwear brands were doing - sell shoes direct to the customer, with no third-party retail markup. This model allows us to pass the savings onto the customer.
3. What are some fashion staples you are loving for fall this year?
Besides our new flats, I love this season's colorful approach to outerwear. I really respond to the idea of a staple piece - like a shoes or a great coat - in a standout hue. I've got my eye on a bold, cobalt jacket from camilla and marc.
4. Share some of your favorites from your own line.
Right now, I can't get enough of our new shoe clips. It's like I get to play designer every morning and create a new pair of shoes by simply clipping on a different colored bow. Lately, it's been our new gold flats with matching gold bows.
5. Any fashion advice you'd like to share?
At the end of the day, if something fits and feels great, you usually look like your best self. They might not remember your outfit, but they'll remember that you were dancing all night and having a great time.
